A manifold of motorcycles [with a mix of local club patches] rolled into Big Daddy’s Handlebars for an inaugural, all-day, live music festival, Big Daddy’s Rock Festival, featuring a lineup of six, area-local bands including Rebels Opera, Rattle Trapp, Hammerhead, Pull, Tennessee Blues Mob, and Rising Up Angry, with Evil Twin performing before Nashville, 70’s punk/metal, power trio, Friend or Foe on the inside stage, September 13, 2025.

Performing local, blues metal quintet, Tennessee Blues Mob‘s Facebook page confirmed a featured song on the soundtrack of the audio drama series John Carpenter Presents Something Wicked, July 24, with their single “Something Wicked” appearing in the first episode, airing this fall.

Tennessee Blues Mob initially had a rough start due to technical difficulties, but the band quickly overcame the obstacles and found its rhythm.

Between the outdoor bands beginning at 2 pm., and the inside stage’s last act at 9 pm, Tennessee Blues Mob was the second-to-last band starting at 6 pm, as Michael (Mike) Phillips reached out and pulls souls close during evocative songs. 

 Jeffery Todd Thomas (who friends call Todd), owns area-Elam, record label Black Fox Entertainment, and has a history of supporting/assisting local bands (helping with events and studio openings), and sometimes acts as a roadie for Tennessee Blues Mob.

“The show was going good until we got to the blues mob, and the sound was kind of crappy. But other than that, it was a great time—a little bit more advertising. Could’ve probably had some more people there, but, yeah, I enjoyed it. I love Pull, the local band Pull, the Tennessee Blues Mob, and Rising Up Angry. They were really something, man. I was really impressed with those guys.” 

Tennessee Blues Mob (link: full album) has upcoming shows at Biketoberfest, presented by their record label Iron Gate Records.

They will play all 4 days of motorcycle rallies in Daytona Beach, Florida, Sept. 27, 2025., before returning to Murfreesboro at Hop Springs, at some point. 

The last band of the night was Rising Up Angry, a heavy-metal music blare out of Nashville using Marshall double stacks as the setting sun perfectly coincided with Big Daddy’s Handlebars’ Big Daddy’s Rock Festival’s elaborate lighting and smoke display. 

*Rising Up Angry is originally from 1996 Chicago, more recently relocated to Daytona Beach, FL (so, coming in from those two places), and toured through Murfreesboro-local, 9/15/25 (touring out from those two places).

Both a “touring in” / “In”* band, as well as a “touring out” / “Out”* band, Rising Up Angry continues the ruckus to Mooney Metalfest, presented by Entertainment Alliance, in Tampa Bay, FL, September 27th, 2025 ($10, all ages, doors @ 2pm).

“It was great. It’s always a good turnout, here,” said Handlebars parking lot attendee, Johnnie, September 18, 2025.

“This is my hometown bar. Y’know, it’s passed down from generation to generation. My –when it was the Little Brown Jug– Mark and Pat, my aunt and uncle started the Handlebar.”

F&P: Rhonda and [staff at Handlebars] pulled everything together, organization-wise (getting the bands booked/the lineup set)?

‘Yeah,’ Johnnie continued. “Tony Hill, he’s the owner of the bar, and it’s always a good turnout.”

“It’s always good organization, good set up, [it’s] safe, here. Everybody has a good time,” Johnnie said.

Jay, a fellow parking lot Johnnie, came from the side door of the Handlebars bar, across the parking lot: In a local paper? about the bar? Folk and…? -I can hear it, now: ‘White Trash Bikers!!’

F&P: No, it has some of that, I guess, but We are You, so we write as such.

“Oh, okay. It’s like a news article, but for rock.”
